The group Ghost has long been known for subverting Christian imagery to present the image of a demon worshiping group. Their song Square Hammer is no different. Square Hammer is a song that was released as a part of the album Meliora on August 20, 2015. Each of Ghosts albums utilizes a different artist as the lead singer. This song is sung by artist Papa Emeritus III.
The song is about someone trying to make a deal and being asked to swear their loyalty before the devil. It creates an intense atmosphere and remains interesting to listen to even after numerous repetitions. It remains one of my favorite rock songs even after months of listening.
